***Update – Conference and COVID-19***
Dear CAP-ACP Members and Friends,
As the COVID-19 global crisis continues to unfold in the coming weeks and months, it is vitally important to us that our members and stakeholders are safe, and that we ensure we do all we can to not put anyone at risk. We also appreciate the very significant and important work you all are doing.
We have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Scientific Conference planned for June 6-9 in Halifax Nova Scotia. Please ensure that you cancel your hotel accommodations. All abstracts are being withdrawn and will be returned for submission to another event or to the 2021 conference.
We are very proud of the excellent program we had created and hope to be able to reprise this in the future. The CAP-ACP appreciates the incredible amount of work that went into planning this year’s meeting from the planning committee, partner organizations, invited speakers, abstract authors and industry supporters, and thank them for their efforts.
Thank you to the planning committee and all those who have literally donated hundreds of hours of volunteer time to set up what was to be an outstanding meeting. Dr. Catherine Streutker, Dr. Monalisa Sur, the executive, members at large, pathologists’ assistants, resident representatives, and our amazing local organizing committee co-chairs from Halifax, Drs. Penny Barnes and Allam Shawwa. I would also like to thank Events & Management Plus Inc (our Secretariat) who are providing excellent logistical support for our organization as we navigate through these difficult times. We are excited to announce that we will be returning to Halifax, July 7, 2022. Our conference in 2021 will be proceeding as planned for Saskatoon and 2023 will be in Gatineau, QC.
This is of course, dependent upon our return to face to face interactions.
Whether at work, working from home or deployed to other areas of healthcare, stay safe and be well.
Dr. Catherine Ross, President CAP-ACP
