Speaker Information

Thank you for your participation in the CAP-ACP 65th Annual Scientific Meeting July 12-15, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Toronto.

Documents Required Prior to Conference – Deadline February 28, 2014:

All conference workshop, symposium, lecture and SIG speakers are required to read the following documents and submit the Declaration of Conflict of Interest Form to the CAP-ACP Secretariat by February 28, 2014:

CPD Requirements for Your Presentation:

  • All conference workshop, symposium, lecture and SIG speakers are required to submit their slide presentations to info@cap-acp.org no later than June 27, 2014.

  • At the beginning of your presentation, you must verbally notify the audience of any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have a direct bearing on the subject matter of the program.

  • Your presentation requires a minimum of 25% of interactivity.  You may choose a variety of formats for interactivity, e.g. case studies for the presentation, small group activities within workshops, or of course, question and answer periods.

  • At the beginning of your presentation, you must identify the learning objectives which should also be inserted into your presentation slides. Please review the conference program, which states the description/learning objectives for each session.

  • Feedback will be solicited from the participants and will include and evaluation of clarity, organization, value, achievement of learning objectives for each session.  You will receive a summary of your evaluation following the event, for your CV and/or teaching and academic portfolio.

Biography & Photo
Your biography will be included on the website, and is also required for the CPD Accreditation application.  Please email your biography as a Word document by February 28, 2014 to info@cap-acp.org.  As a guideline, typically the biographies submitted by presenters are approximately 1-2 paragraphs in length.  Please also send a headshot photo for the website and program.

Learning Objectives
All speakers must submit the learning objectives of their session.  These will be included on the website and are required for the CPD applications.  Please confer with the Chair of your symposium to clarify the general objectives for the symposium, and submit the learning objectives for your specific session presentation.  Please submit three specific learning objectives, and use the following format or attached form fillable:

Session Description

Please submit a short description of the topic of your presentation in paragraph format.  This will be included on the website to provide information to participants about your presentation.



Presentation rooms will be equipped with a full set up for powerpoint presentations.  Please bring your powerpoint presentation to the Conference on a USB flashdrive to load onto the laptop provided onsite.  An a/v technician will be present to help load the presentations.


All speakers are required to make their own accommodation arrangements.  All scientific sessions will be held at the Hyatt Regency Toronto, ON.  If you plan to stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and have not yet made a reservation, please contact the hotel.  Hotel room block is available until by Wednesday June 11, 2014.


Registration Fee
All speakers are asked to register for the conference.  Registration will be open on the website at: http://cap-acp.com/conference/2014 mid February 2014. Single day registration is also available if you are not able to attend the full Conference, but we hope you are able to participate in the full Conference as we have put together a great scientific program.
