ROYAL COLLEGE ACCREDITATION

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Association of Pathologists-Association Canadienne des pathologistes. You may claim a maximum of 35.5 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

 

Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Live educational activities recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) are deemed by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) eligible for ECMEC®.

 

Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners, healthcare practitioners participating in the QCHP CME/CPD program may record MOC Section 1 or MOC Section 3 credits as QCHP Category 1 or Category 3 credits.

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE CAP-ACP ANNUAL MEETING

At the end of the meeting participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the evolving role of pathologists in the era of predictive biomarker testing;
  • Describe recent developments in diagnosis and management based on new biomarkers and molecular signatures;
  • Describe the pathogenesis of disease and apply up-to-date diagnostic criteria in several areas in pathology;
  • Evaluate and different educational tools in residency training for learning and assessment;
  • Discuss and assess the significance of new scientific findings and observations in the field of pathology;
  • Debate about current issues that impact on pathology practice in Canada.
